On August 10, 2026, KuaiYa announced the completion of a new round of global node expansion, bringing 20 new nodes online across Tokyo, Frankfurt and Sydney at once. It is KuaiYa's third expansion this year and pushes the total node count past 2000.
KuaiYa's node layout has always followed user distribution. Over the past six months, the share of users from Europe and Asia-Pacific rose notably, and existing nodes began to queue at peak hours. This expansion targeted three previously high-load regions for targeted reinforcement.
Of the 20 new nodes, eight are in Tokyo, seven in Frankfurt and five in Sydney, all on dedicated bandwidth, with per-node bandwidth raised from 10Gbps to 25Gbps. After the expansion, average peak-hour latency in the three regions dropped by roughly 15%, 18% and 12% respectively.
KuaiYa's infrastructure lead said all new nodes use SSD acceleration and BGP multi-homing, reducing extra latency from cross-carrier detours at the source.
Beyond adding nodes, KuaiYa upgraded the scheduling layer so new nodes can be immediately included in smart routing's candidate paths. Users don't need to select manually — the client automatically steers traffic toward lower-load new nodes.
Expansion usually brings cost pressure, but KuaiYa chose to open the new bandwidth to existing users at no extra charge. Officials said node expansion is part of the service promise and shouldn't be passed on as a price hike.

A user based in Frankfurt reported that after the expansion, evening video stuttering dropped noticeably and latency fell from the 60ms to the 40ms range. Node reinforcement is especially tangible for European users.
